BioAsia the annual flagship event of the Telangana Government kicked off yesterday. The three day event will see discussions on a range of issues relating to the Indian Pharma sector.
The event is hosting 1,600 delegates from over 52 countries. Nearly 100 high profile speakers will address the meeting. CEO of BioAsia Shakthi Nagappaan said, “Biopharmaceuticals is witnessing several challenges. The idea of the event is preparing the industry to face these challenges and embrace the change. We have five core focus areas this year innovation, cancer diagnostics, supply chain and logistics, digital health and regulations. This is the first time the USFDA (U.S. Food and Drug Administration) is partnering with BioAsia to hold a dedicated session on regulations.”
BioAsia 2018 will deliberate on issues of manufacturing and regulatory standards in the Pharma Industry. This will be the biggest BioAsia event with Ireland as the partner country. Delegates from Malaysia, Belgium, South Africa, South Korea and the Netherlands will be present at the event.
Talking about BioAsia Nagappan said, “Over the last 14 years of BioAsia, the event platform has generated projects worth $ 2.5 billion. Most of these projects had been realized. Delegates from about 90 countries have participated so far. About 15,000 business meetings had been held in the past meetings.”
An exhibition will be set up with 100 exhibitors out of which 30 are startups. The exhibitors will showcase their capabilities to attract investors.
