On Monday, the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) criticised the Telangana Government for failing to invite CM N. Chandrababu Naidu for the World Telugu Conference. The ongoing World Telugu Conference (WTC) is being held in Hyderabad.
TDP MLC and Spokesperson Y.V.B. Rajendra Prasad said, “It is sad that Chandrababu has not been invited to the WTC. (Telangana Chief Minister) K Chandrasekhar Rao has divided the Telugus into Andhra and Telanganaites. Ignoring the legend N. T. Rama Rao, the pride of Telugu people, is also an insult to the entire Telugu community. It doesn’t look like the World Telugu Conference but KCR Telugu Conference. Looks like it is organized only to showcase KCR’s Telugu literary skills.”
The WTC began in Hyderabad on the 15th of December with a huge number of Telugu speaking people from all over the world. The agenda of the conference is to discuss the preservation and promotion of the Telugu language.
The five day event held at Lal Bahadur Stadium was inaugurated by Vice President M. Venkaiah Naidu. The inaugural session was addressed by Telangana CM KCR, Telangana and Andhra Pradesh Governor E.S.L. Narasimhan and Maharashtra Governor Vidyasagar Rao.
