Hyderabad City Police To Go Paperless From Today

The Hyderabad City Police is ready to go paperless from today. The Police Commissioner Anjani Kumar said the plan for an Electronic Office would help in better movement of files and quick action for public grievances.

The E Office is a computer software application that allows all files of the department to move through emails and remain in a digital format. On Monday, the Commissioner confirmed the system would connect all the police stations in Hyderabad including the officer of the Assistant and Deputy Commissioner of Police. The Traffic Department, Crime Branches and Armed Reserve would also be connected to the system.

Mr. Anjani Kumar was quoted saying, “This is an environment and citizen friendly initiative and the citizens will be the ultimate beneficiaries.” He further added, “The faster disposal of all public grievances in a transparent and fair manner is the idea of the initiative. It will bring police closer to the people. We look forward to a healthier partnership in future.”

Kumar explained there might be a few issues in the beginning but was open for feedback and suggestions from the citizens. He said, “Any big project will surely have issues in the beginning. We definitely expect there could be some problems in the next one week or 10 days. We expect support from the citizens. We created helpdesks and guidance cells.”

The Hyderabad City Police will be the first in the Country to implement a paperless police station. The entire force from the lowest ranks to the Commissioner are undergoing training to adapt to the new E Office.
