Hyderabad: Narayanguda police arrested a priest for allegedly raping a 45-year-old woman for calling her to his room on the pretext of performing special puja in Hyderabad.
According to the police, 26-year-old accused K Rama Rao aka Ramu noticed the woman crying at the temple in Vittalwadi area in Hyderabad and asked her to come to his room to perform few special puja’s in order to get rid of all her tensions. At around 2 p.m. when the woman went to meet the priest he allegedly raped her.
Following the complaint by the woman, a case on charges of rape, wrongful confinement and cheating under relevant sections of IPC was registered and the accused was arrested. Rama Rao will be produced in court on Thursday, he said.
