International Yoga Day: CM Naidu Performed Yoga At Amaravati

On the occasion of the International Yoga Day, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu performed Yoga at Amaravati city. The 4th International Yoga Day began with a grand start in India.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi led thousands while practicing Yoga in Dehradun early this morning. Addressing the crowd at Dehradun Modi said, “In today’s fast changing time, Yoga binds together a person’s body, brain and soul, hence making one experience a feeling of peace. Dehradun se Dublin tak, Shanghai se Chicago tak, Jakarta se Johannesburg tak, Yoga hi Yoga hai (From Dehradun to Dublin, Shanghai to Chicago, Jakarta to Johannesburg, there is Yoga all around.) Yoga has become one of the unifying forces of the world.”

More than 50,000 enthusiasts participated in the celebrations at the Forest Research Institute in Dehradun.

The 21st of June is recognized as World Yoga Day after the United Nations issued the announcement in 2015. This will be the fourth year people around the world get together to celebrate the spiritual exercise.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi suggested 21st of June as Yoga Day to the UN in 2014. This is because the 21st is the longest day of the year in the Northern Hemisphere.
