Madhya Pradesh: A Gang Hijack A Police Van And Abduct A Girl From Her House

On Sunday, a gang hijacked a police vehicle and abducted a girl from her house in a remote village in Madhya Pradesh’s Panna district. The Police said a gang of five men called a Dial 100 van saying a drunk man was creating nuisance near Bamuraha village in Amanganj Tehsil.

It is said the Head Constable Prakash Mandal and a Special Armed Force Jawan Subhash Dubey on reaching the spot found a man lying on the road with his face down. When they neared the man, he got up and aimed a pistol at the policemen and four other men joined him. The gang stripped the policemen and the driver and put them in another car after tying them. A few of them wore the uniforms and went to Bamuraha village in the Dial 100 police van.

On reaching the girl’s house they forced her, her father and uncle to sit in the van. After a while, they forced the father and uncle to get down from the van and sped away with the girl.

Amanganj Police Inspector Rakesh Tiwari said they suspect the girl and the main accused Devraj Singh were in a relationship. He further added that Devraj was involved in many crimes and was externed from the district.

The girl went to Sagar in Madhya Pradesh to write her undergraduate examination. It is said her uncle objected to her frequently meeting Devraj Singh. This led her to file a First Information Report (FIR) against her uncle alleging he harassed her.

Tiwari said the police suspect that Devraj forced the girl to lodge a FIR against her uncle. A manhunt has been launched to nab the criminals.
