PV Sindhu Gets Grand Welcome In Hyderabad

Hyderabad: India’s ace shuttler P.V. Sindhu, who won the silver medal at the Rio 2016 Olympics, received a grand welcome on Monday in Hyderabad. She was accompanied by her coach Pullela Gopichand. The Olympic silver medalist was greeted by her parents – P.V. Ramana and P. Vijaya.

Sindhu waved to the cheering crowd from an open-top vehicle as the procession began from the airport towards Gachibowli stadium. The government of Telangana has organised a gala felicitation ceremony for the star and also announced a Rs. 5 crore cash reward, a 1,000 square yard housing site near the Pullela Gopichand Badminton Academy in Gachibowli and a government job. The government has also announced a cash prize of Rs. 1 crore for Sindhu’s coach Gopichand.
