The Blue Whale game has made an appearance again. The Karaikal police rescued a 22 year old trying to complete one of the Blue Whale Game challenges. The DGP of Puducherry S. Gautham reported that the victim received the link to the game from a WhatsApp group with over 73 members.

Superintendent of Police (Karaikal South) Vamseedhara Reddy reported, “Our team found he was playing the Blue Whale challenge. He had received the link in ‘Mersal,’ a WhatsApp group created by his colleagues in Chennai.”

The victim identified as B. Alexander is from Karaikal and works for a manpower management company in Chennai.

The police rescued him after they caught him drawing a whale on his arm with a knife. The police received a call from his brother B. Ajith who informed them that his brother was involved in the game.

Alexander was on his fifth challenge in the game that required him to carve a whale with a knife on his arm.

The people behind the game managed to extort the man’s personal details from email ids to the passwords.

The police have reported that they will be investigating the number that shared the link on the group and also check on all the other members of the group to ensure they are not playing the game.
