Mr. Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh (A.P.,) on the 19th of January, Wednesday, directed the officials to complete the first phase work of the digital libraries.
During a review meeting on the energy sector and digital libraries project, Mr. Jagan Mohan Reddy set a deadline of June end, to complete the first phase of the digital libraries, which would enable work from home (WFH) for people. In addition, these digital libraries would have features like desktop consoles, internet connection, furniture and other facilities for people.
During the meeting, the officials concerned with the digital libraries work, informed the Chief Minister about the work progress. The official said, in Phase I, they would set up digital libraries in 4,530 villages. The net connectivity for the digital libraries would be completed by February 2022. The Chief Minister is particular that the digital libraries be completed on time so that the high-speed internet concept spreads to even remote villages. He asked the officials concerned to take measures to provide uninterrupted internet facilities to village secretariats and Rythu Bharosa Kendras.
Minister for energy and science and technology Balineni Srinivas Reddy, chief secretary Sameer Sharma, panchayat raj and rural development chief secretary Mr. Gopal Krishna Dwivedi, energy secretary Mr. N. Srikant, the APGenco MD Mr. B. Sridhar, finance secretary Mr. S.S. Rawat, the APTS Managing Director Mr. M Nandakishore, the APSFL MD Mr. Madhusudhan Reddy, village and ward secretariats department director SS Mohan and other officials were present at the meeting. The meeting was held at the Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) Camp Office in Tadepalli.
