If you think your Apple device is virus-proof, update first and think again. American cyber-security research firm Citizen Labs has discovered a potent malware, called Pegasus, that can take complete control of your iOS device.
Citizen Labs has revealed that Israel-based NSO Group created this highly sophisticated spy tool and is selling it for amounts up to 8 million dollars for 300 licenses. The malware arrives as an SMS to your phone (might have other channels of communication that are yet unexposed) with a link. On clicking the link, it discreetly jailbreaks your phone and gets access to every possible bit of your personal data.

Apple was notified as soon as the vulnerability was discovered and has issued an update (iOS 9.3.5) on Thursday. We recommend that you update your iOS device at the earliest to make sure that there isn’t the slightest chance of you falling prey to Pegasus.
