Tirupati: Former MLA Chevireddy Bhasker Reddy has accused the coalition government of adopting a vindictive approach by filing false cases against him. Speaking to the media on Wednesday, he stated his resolve to face these cases head-on and expose the truth behind them.
Reddy highlighted a recent POCSO case filed against him, which he termed baseless and incomprehensible. He explained that the case was related to an incident in Erravaripalem, where he had visited a minor girl who had been assaulted, following a call from her father seeking support. “I went there to console the girl after her father called me. This happened 21 days ago, and now they have filed a false case against me,” he said, sharing a video of the girl’s father to corroborate his statement.
He further alleged that the girl’s father was coerced by the authorities at the police station into filing the complaint against him, with support from TDP-friendly media that spread baseless allegations. Chevireddy vowed to fight the legal battle and warned that those behind the false accusations would face consequences in due course.
