PM Modi Addresses Public Rally In Poll Bound WB, Assures Asal Paribartan (Real Change)

Intensifying the campaign for the West Bengal Assembly elections, Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed a public rally in Kharagpur, West Bengal. On the 20th of March, Mr. Modi was scheduled to visit Kharagpur and Assam.

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is aggressively campaigning for the upcoming WB elections for 294 Assembly seats. Unlike every year in 2021, there would be a tough fight for the power between the BJP and the Trinamool Congress (TMC.)

Mr. Modi started his speech with “Bharat Mata Ki Jai.” During the public rally, Mr. Modi took a dig at the ruling Trinamool Congress (TMC) led by Mamata Banerjee. He said, “Only single window that exists in Bengal today is single window of ‘Bhaipo’ (nephew), no work gets done without crossing it.” He criticised Mamata Banerjee, the Chief Minister of West Bengal for playing games for vote banks. He said, “Mamata Didi runs school of brutality where ‘tolabaji’ (extortion), cut money, syndicate and anarchy form syllabus.”

Concerned about the growth and development of the State, Mr. Modi said the TMC is equivalent to the mafia raj in Bengal. This mafia raj of the Indian National Congress, the Communist Party of Marxist (CPM) and the TMC stalled Bengal’s development for decades.

He said, “Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee stands like (a) wall to block central schemes.” He further added, “Bengal is asking, where is the aid that Centre sent to the state? (sic)”

Promising vikas (growth and development) Mr. Modi said, “In the last 70 years, you gave opportunities to everyone but give us 5 years, we will free Bengal from the 70 years of destruction, we will sacrifice our lives for you.”

Mr. Modi said, the BJP would give a change, revolution and development to West Bengal, which was stalled for years in the State.

Mr. Narendra Modi is actively participating in rallies and public meetings in poll bound Assam and West Bengal. Recently on the 18th of March, Mr. Modi visited Purulia district of West Bengal.

After addressing the rally at Kharagpur, Mr. Modi is scheduled to visit the Chabua area of Assam.

West Bengal and Assam are two poll bound states, contesting for 294 and 126 Assembly seats, respectively.

While elections in West Bengal would be held in 8 phases, starting from the 27th of March till the 29th of April, elections in Assam are divided in three phases. The Assam elections are scheduled on the 27th of March, the 1st of April and the 6th of April.

The results of both the state elections would be announced on the 2nd of May.
