AIMIM And AMMK Form Alliance For Tamil Nadu Assembly Polls

The Asaduddin Owaisi led All India Majlis e Ittehad-ul-Muslimeen (AIMIM) and Amma Makkal Munnetra Kazhagam (AMMK) formed an alliance in Tamil Nadu. 

On the 8th of March, both the party leaders met and decided to contest the Tamil Nadu Assembly elections together on Monday for the upcoming Tamil Nadu Assembly elections.

Wakeel Ahmed, the AIMIM President of Tamil Nadu unit confirmed the alliance. He said, ” We are very confident of winning all three seats.” He further added, “We are happy about this alliance. We will work hard and put in all our efforts in all the 234 seats to ensure that our alliance partner emerges victorious.”

As per the seat sharing arrangement, the AIMIM would contest three assembly constituencies, Vaniyambadi, Krishnagiri and Sankarapuram.

The agreement between the two parties was signed by T.V.V. Dhinakaran, the President of the AMMK and Mohammed Rahmatullah AIMIM In Charge for Tamil Nadu .

Besides Tamil Nadu, the AIMIM is also planning to contest the West Bengal Assembly elections.

Elections in Tamil Nadu for 234 seats would be held in a single phase on the 6th of April.

Date of Issue of Gazette Notification: the 12th of March.

Last Date of Nominations: the 19th of March.

Date for Scrutiny of Nominations: the 20th of March.

Last Date for Withdrawal of candidatures: the 22nd of March.

The results of the Tamil Nadu Assembly elections would be announced on the 2nd of March.
