On the 12th of May, Thursday, the Allahabad High Court (HC) rejected a plea filed by Mr. Rajneesh Singh, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) youth media-in charge, regarding 22 closed doors of the Taj Mahal.
According to sources, Mr. Rajneesh Singh filed the plea seeking an archaeological survey of the doors claiming the presence of Hindu idols. Last week, a plea has been filed in the Lucknow bench of the Allahabad High court, demanding a probe to ascertain the presence of Hindu idols inside the Taj Mahal.
The petition especially called for directions to the Archeological Survey of India to probe into the 22 closed doors inside the monument, to search for Hindu idols. The plea also relies on claims that the Taj Mahal is a Shiv Temple. The BJP leader, Mr. Rajneesh Singh also demanded a fact-finding committee formation, to investigate the claims made by him.
However, after reviewing the plea, the Allahabad High Court rejected the plea and dismissed the matter.
