On Friday, the army has issued a statement they were investigating the video that shows a youth tied to an Army jeep. It has been alleged that this young man was used a shield against stone pelting in Jammu and Kashmir.
A Defence spokesperson said, “In reference to the video showing a young man tied to an army jeep, the contents of the video are being verified and investigated.” This video has been doing the rounds on social media when it came to the Former Chief Minister Omar Abdullah’s notice. He tweeted the video along with a picture and termed it ‘shocking’.

The video is said to have been shot in Budgam district’s Beerwah area. There was protests and stone pelting in the area so as to disturb the by-polls. The video has been widely condemned by social media, with CM Abdullah writing, “This young man was TIED to the front of an army jeep to make sure no stones were thrown at the jeep? This is just so shocking!”

The NC leader also said that this video has attracted the same rage that the death of CRPF jawans has attracted from the Country. The former Chief Minister said, “I understand the outrage the CRPF video generated. I’m also outraged that the video of the youth on the jeep won’t generate the same anger. Let’s see channels going ballistic and having discussions with outraged panelists now. Probably not since ‘Kashmir is ours’ hell with Kashmiris.” He added, “A warning can be heard saying stone pelters will meet this fate. This requires an urgent inquiry and follow up NOW!”
The former CM has also demanded an inquiry into the incident and clarification on it.
