Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal is in Chandigarh to meet Haryana Chief Minister M. L. Khattar. Kejriwal requested the Punjab Chief Minister Amarinder Singh to be part of the meeting but Singh blatantly declined.
CM Kejriwal believes the burning of crop stubble by farmers in Punjab and Haryana is the major cause of the horrible pollution in Delhi. He explained the meet was, “to discuss issues related to pollution with Hon’ble CM of Haryana and his team. Look forward to a fruitful discussion.”
Amarinder Singh refused to meet Kejriwal because the discussion would be meaningless and futile. The Chief Minister of Punjab blames Delhi’s pollution on, “mismanaged transportation and unplanned industrial development.”
Just like Punjab’s CM, even Haryana’s CM Khattar blames the Delhi Chief Minister for “politicising pollution.” But even with their differences Khattar will meet Kejriwal and discuss the increasing pollution problem in Delhi.
