The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) is all set to contest Assembly elections in six States of India.

Expanding beyond New Delhi, the Arvind Kejriwal led AAP is going to contest in Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Goa, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh and Gujarat in the next two years.

On the 28th of January, Mr. Arvind Kejriwal at the National Council Meeting of the AAP said, “People across the country are talking about the good governance of the AAP in Delhi. Everywhere in the country, people want power and water subsidies and welfare schemes like Delhi. We need to bridge the gaps. For that, we need to build up a strong organisation… In the next two years, our party will contest elections in Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Goa, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh and Gujarat… People are ready and now we just have to reach out to them.”

The official Twitter handle of AAP tweeted, “आम आदमी पार्टी अगले दो सालों में होने वाले छह राज्यों के विधानसभा चुनाव लड़ेगी।

उत्तरप्रदेश, उत्तराखंड, पंजाब, गोवा, गुजरात और हिमाचल प्रदेश में चुनाव लड़ेगी पार्टी। : राष्ट्रीय संयोजक @ArvindKejriwal.”

The National Council Meeting of the Party was held at Kapashera.

The decision of Mr. Kejriwal, the President of the AAP is said to be a step to increase its footstep in other states at a national level.

In addition to the big announcement, the AAP also gave State-wise responsibilities to AAP leaders.

Raghav Chaddha, an AAP leader, would be in charge of Punjab and Ms. Atishi would take the AAP’s expansion in Gujarat.

Delhi Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) Dinesh Mohania is in charge of Uttarakhand.

The aforementioned states are scheduled to conduct its Assembly elections in 2022.
