Author Arundhati Roy endorsed a new book which is renowned by her has introduced Gandhiji as a rabid racist and an unashamed flag-bearer for the British Empire has provoked a heated debate, pitting his admires against his critics, even before it is out.
The book is titled as ‘The South African Gandhi: Stretcher-Bearer of Empire’, this is written by two Africans of Indian origin, Ashwin Desai and Goolam Vahed.
The facts in the book has been revealed are awful as it claims the father of the nation to be a racist and the man who has sparked hatred against the native Africans during his time as a lawyer in South Africa between 1893 and 1914!
She has hailed the book as a “serious challenge to the way we have been taught to think about Gandhi’. “This is a wonderful demonstration of meticulously researched, evocative, clear-eyed and fearless history-writing. It uncovers a story, some might even call it a scandal, that has remained hidden in plain sight for far too long,” mentioned by Arundhati Roy.
