B.S. Yediyurappa, the Chief Minister of Karnataka, on the 19th of August, announced the expansion of the Karnataka Cabinet will be held on the 20th of August.

Mr. Yediyurappa said, “The cabinet expansion will take place between 10:30 A.M., and 11:30 A.M., tomorrow (the 20th of August.) I have already written a letter to the Governor in this regard. I have asked the Chief Secretary to make all the arrangements.”

Yediyurappa addressed the media after the announcement and said after the expansion on Tuesday, the newly formed Cabinet will conduct a meeting.

The announcement to expand the Karnataka Government came after Amit Shah, the Home Minister of India, approved the demand of Yediyurappa to expand the Government.

Speaking about the delay in expansion, B.S. Yediyurappa said the Party was unable to finalise the names of the appropriate candidates, due to which, the process was delayed.

As of now, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) led Karnataka Government will induct 13 to 14 ministers into the Karnataka Cabinet.  The Governor and the Speaker approved the induction of a total of 34 ministers into the Karnataka Government.

The inducted ministers are expected to take oath on the 20th of August.

Stay tuned for further updates.
