On the 4th of January, Tuesday, the main accused in “Bulli Bai” case, an engineering student Vishal Kumar has been sent to judicial custody.
The Bandra Court has announced remand till January 10. Notably, the Mumbai police detained Vishal Kumar, an engineering student from Bengaluru and interrogated him in Bulli Bai case.
The Bulli Bai case is a platform over an app consisting of photos of Muslim women, mostly journalists. Reportedly, a woman has also been arrested in Uttarakhand as an accused.
Earlier, the Mumbai Police arrested Vishal Jha, an Engineering student, also an accused in “Bulli Bai” case. The case was registered after Muslim woman’s pictures were posted on GitHub platform, for “online auction.” Similar to “sulli deals” the matter created outrage amongst political leaders, journalists and activists, demanding strict action against culprits. In addition, detained accused are being interrogated, following which the police confirmed no sikh/khalistani group’s involvement.
