The Indian women’s cricket team defeated arch-rivals Pakistan in the T20 match at the Commonwealth Games 2022, which is being held in Birmingham, the United Kingdom (U.K.)

On the 31st of July, Sunday, the Harmanpreet Kaur-led Indian Women Cricket squad won against Pakistan with eight wickets and kept their chances of reaching the knockouts alive at the CWG 2022.   

Besides victory against Pakistan, the team’s captain Harmanpreet Kaur also broke the record of the former Indian men’s cricket team captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni.  Ms. Harmanpreet Kaur became the youngest captain to lead a team to victory for the 42nd time in the T20 format.  Notably, before Ms. Harmanpreet Kaur, Mr. Mahendra Singh Dhoni was the captain who led a team to victory for the 41st time, in his cricket captaincy career.

Furthermore, Ms. Harmanpreet Kaur became India’s most successful captain in the shortest format.
