Constable From Bastar Sets On A 6,000 Km Peace Ride

Yesterday Banshi Lal Netam, a police constable from Bastar in Chhattisgarh started on a 6,000 Km cycle ride from Delhi’s India Gate. The 42 year old wishes to spread the message of peace, especially in the Naxal hit areas.

Netam also wants to get featured in the Guinness book of world records. Netam said, “My main motive is to feature in the Guinness World Record and Golden book world record.”

Netam was quoted saying, “Then I want to open a hub of adventurous sports in Bastar and help the youth of Bastar use this opportunity fully. Like cycling, mountaineering, para mountaineering, horse riding. Helping the kids of Bastar is my main motive.”

Holding his cycle, Netam says his message will be about spreading peace in Bastar. Netam has been cycling around 350 Km each day for one and a half years, to prepare for this ride.

In a span of 20 days Netam plans to return back to Delhi. Netam will be taking the 6,000 Km Golden Quadrilateral route covering Rajasthan, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and back to Delhi.
