Delhi: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) custody of MLC Kavitha, arrested in connection with the Delhi liquor case, concluded today, marking a pivotal turn in the ongoing legal saga. Presenting her before the Rouse Avenue court, officials of the investigating agency sought her transfer to judicial custody for a span of 15 days. As the investigation progresses, numerous individuals remain under scrutiny while many questions linger unanswered.

Joyab Hussain, representing the ED, articulated his arguments remotely, advocating for Kavitha’s extended detention. However, amidst legal wrangling, Kavitha’s defense counsel brought attention to her son’s impending examinations, petitioning for interim bail on her behalf.

Following a deliberation of arguments from both sides, the court decreed a remand period of 14 days for Kavitha, extending until April 9, during which she will be held at Tihar Jail. Concurrently, the court scheduled a hearing for her interim bail plea on April 1, setting the stage for further legal maneuvers.

Addressing the media while entering the court premises, Kavitha vehemently proclaimed her innocence, dismissing the charges against her as politically motivated. “This is not a case of money laundering; it’s political laundering,” she asserted. Undeterred by the legal proceedings, Kavitha exuded confidence, declaring, “My self-esteem cannot be tarnished.”

In a striking revelation, Kavitha highlighted the alleged affiliations of her co-accused, suggesting a broader political narrative at play. “One accused has already joined the BJP. Another is being endorsed by the party, while the third is tied to a hefty bond,” she remarked, as she entered the courtroom amidst chants of “Jai Telangana.. Jai KCR.”

As the legal battle ensues, the case of MLC Kavitha continues to unfold, intertwining elements of law, politics, and intrigue in the heart of Delhi.
