On Monday, the US President Donald Trump had a telephonic conversation with the Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and congratulated him on the electoral win in Uttar Pradesh. Sean Spicer, the White House spokesperson on Monday promised more in depth details about the call later.

After Trump’s win as the president on November 8, 2016, this is the third telephonic conversation between the leaders.

According to reports, the two leaders have invited each other to visit their countries. This call and UP success applaud is believed to be a cover for a much prolonged conversation and a personal meeting plan. S. Jaishankar, the Indian foreign secretary and Ajit Doval, the National Security Advisor have recently made back to back visits to Washington DC. The Central government looks keen to maintain the momentum of ties that have started with George Bush and continued under Barack Obama.

Also, the media has been informed by the Trump government officials that the Administration is inclined towards India and there are no hindrances in the steady increase of ties. But the New Delhi administration is maintaining caution and not rushing in for high level visits. They are also carefully analyzing the rocky waters before taking a plunge into a relationship with the Trump’s administration.
