In order to have a peaceful hearing, security has been tightened in Panchkula town in Haryana. The crucial hearing of two separate murder cases, against Dera Sacha Sauda Chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh will be conducted on Saturday.

One case is related to the murder of Sirsa based journalist Ram Chander Chhatrapati and the other of former Dera manager Ranjit Singh.

B.S. Sandhu, Haryana Director General of Police reported that para military and Haryana Police personnel are being stationed outside the court complex in Sector 1. The security forces will also be extended in parts of Panchkula town to ensure law and order.

The so called godman will not be physically present at the hearing and will be video conferencing from the District Jail in Sunarai near Rohtak.

Both the victims were murdered in 2002 and Ram Rahim is the main accused in the case as it is alleged that the murders were done on his behalf.

On 28th August when Ram Rahim was sentenced to 20 years rigorous imprisonment by the CBI Court, riots broke out in the area. The violence led to 38 people dead and nearly 264 injured.
