Today a Special CBI Court will announce the verdict for the Fodder Scam. The verdict will decide former Bihar Chief Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav’s future. Along with Yadav, ex CM Jagannath Mishra and 20 others will be in the dock for the judgment.
The Fodder Scam case relates to fraudulent withdrawal of Rs. 89 lakh from the Deoghar treasury. This scam allegedly took place between 1991 and 1994.
Yesterday Lalu Prasad Yadav said he was innocent, “I am not at all tensed over the judgment to come tomorrow. I have complete faith in the judicial system of the country.”
Apart from the two former Chief Ministers former MP R. K. Rana, three former IAS officers Phoolchand Singh, Mahesh Prasad and Beck Julius are among the 22 accused in the Fodder case.
On the 27th of October 1997, a charge sheet was filed against 38 people in the Fodder Scam. Lalu believes that just like the 2G Scam verdict he will also be acquitted of all charges. Lalu also stated the BJP was using the Fodder Scam to hold him back,
