Amit Shah, the Home Minister of India, on the 5th of August, moved a resolution in the Rajya Sabha to revoke all the clauses of Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir.
The Ministry of Law and Justice also issued an application, Constitution (Application to Jammu and Kashmir) 2019 with regard to Article 370.
Amit Shah said during the Cabinet meeting which was organised on the 5th of August, the Government of India decided to repeal Article 370. It also decided to make the State of Jammu and Kashmir a union territory (UT). Ladakh will also become a UT without legislature.
The appeal to revoke all the clauses of Article 370 was approved by Ram Nath Kovind, the President of India, immediately.
The President’s office issued an order regarding the same, which states, “Everything in the Indian Constitution will apply to Jammu and Kashmir and the Constituent Assembly in Article 370 (3) has been changed to legislative assembly. This in turn means that the Governor, who is being treated as the ‘State Government’ at the moment, was able to move the resolution to the President.”
The orders created a chaos in the Parliament. Opposition parties and political leaders are criticising the Government of India for abrogating Article 370.
GOIs intention is clear & sinister. They want to change demography of the only muslim majority state in India , disempower Muslims to the extent where they become second class citizens in their own state.

Goosebumps. This is historic. Integration of Jammu&Kashmir is a must to ensure peace and development in the region, removing Article 370 has sealed that. I ensured my kids also witnessed this moment in history. #Article370 pic.twitter.com/PWm31MI78D
