Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Tests COVID-19 Positive

Jairam Thakur, the Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh, tested positive for the Novel Coronavirus or COVID-19.

Mr. Thakur shared about his COVID-19 status through his Twitter handle.

In a tweet, on the 12th of October, Mr. Thakur said, “I have isolated myself in my official residence.”

According to his tweet, he came in contact with the virus after he met a COVID-19 patient.

He is being home quarantined and showed influenza like symptoms.

Besides Mr. Thakur in the past, many politicians and CMs tested positive for the Novel Coronavirus.

Some of them include Amit Shah, the Home Minister of India, Nitin Gadkari, the Union Road and Transport Minister of India, Manish Sisodia, the Deputy Chief Minister of Delhi, CM of Assam, CM of Chhattisgarh and others.

In addition, Karnataka Chief Minister B.S. Yediyurappa, Haryana Chief Minister M.L. Khattar, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, also tested positive for Covid in the last two months and have recovered.

Meanwhile, Himachal Pradesh has a total of 17,408 COVID-19 cases.
