On Wednesday morning, Jammu and Kashmir police arrested Aadil Ahmad Bhat a Hizbul Mujahideen militant from Bijbehara railway station located in Anantnag district. A joint operation was carried out by CRPF and the Indian army to make the arrest.
The militant Bhat, has a bounty of three lakhs on his head. He was arrested while returning to his home after meeting an accomplice.
News reports state that Bhat has been on the wanted list for several cases of attacks on security forces in Jammu and Kashmir.
This month has been very successful for the security forces in terms of arresting and killing terrorists in the state.
Less than a week ago, security forces were successful in killing Abu Ismail the leader of Lashkar-e-Taiba and his associate in Nowgam in Anantnag.
Ismail was accused of killing eight Amarnath Yatra pilgrims on 10 July and was categorized as an A plus terrorist.
These continuous arrests are being made by the security forces in an attempt to clear Jammu and Kashmir of militants that are terrorizing the state.
