India and the United States continue to work together to improve their defence ties. Their joint activities also focus on preparing both nations to respond better to natural disasters and other emergencies.
The fifth edition of Exercise Tiger Triumph 2026 concluded with a closing ceremony in Visakhapatnam on November 5. The three-service exercise took place from October 31 to November 5, with members of the armed forces of both countries taking part.
The exercise focused on improving teamwork and coordination during Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief (HADR) operations, with special attention to joint amphibious operations.
It included two parts: a Staff Exercise and a Tabletop Exercise. These activities covered operational planning, medical operations and cyberspace. They also allowed both sides to test their plans in a simulated setting.
Rear Admiral Vishal Bishnoi, Flag Officer Commanding Eastern Fleet, and Rear Admiral Joaquin J. Martinez de Pinillos, Vice Commander of the US Pacific Fleet, attended the closing ceremony.
First held in 2019, Exercise Tiger Triumph continues to support defence cooperation and joint disaster response efforts between the two countries.
