On the 15th of June, India reported 11,502 new cases of the Novel Coronavirus or COVID-19, taking total cases to 3,32,424 till the 15th of June. 

Recently on the 11th of June, India left behind the United Kingdom (U.K.,) and became the 4th worst COVID-19 affected nation with  a total of 2.90 lakh cases of the Novel Coronavirus.

In the past few days, India’s everyday spike in Coronavirus cases touched 10,000, taking the total infection to more than 3.32 lakhs. 

Despite such increasing numbers, the Government of India (GoI) said India is yet to enter community transmission, the 3rd stage of the spread of the Novel Coronavirus.

The Central Government said the nationwide lockdown imposed on the 24th of March for the first time, prevented the community transmission to happen in India.

Though India is Witnessing a spike in positive cases, numbers of recovered cases improves exceeding the number of active cases in the past.

As of now, India has 1,69, 798 recovery cases and 1,53,106 active cases of the Coronavirus infection. 

Meanwhile, numbers of fatalities due to the Novel Coronavirus reached 9,520.

Maharashtra is still the worst affected due to the Novel Coronavirus with  a total of 1,07,958 cases of the infection.  After Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu and Delhi are also witnessing the highest one day spikes in cases and stand at 44,661 and 41,182 respectively.

Other states which are showing daily increase in cases are: Gujarat (23,544,) Uttar Pradesh  (13,615,) Rajasthan (12,694,) Madhya Pradesh (10,082,) West Bengal (11,087,) Haryana (7,208,) Karnataka (7,000) Bihar (6,470,) Andhra Pradesh (6,163) and Telangana (4,974.)
