On the 7th of October, India recorded 72,049 cases of the Novel Coronavirus or COVID-19.
With a spike of 72,049 new cases and 986 deaths reported in the last 24 hours, India’s COVID-19 count reached 67,57,132,
According to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW) official website, India has 67,57,132 positive cases, of which 9,07,883 are active cases, 57,44,694 are recovered/discharged cases and 1,04,555 deceased.
Maharashtra continues to be the worst affected by the pandemic with 2,47,468 active cases, followed by Karnataka with 1,15,170 active cases, Kerala with 87,823 active cases and Andhra Pradesh 50,776 active cases.
According to the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR,) approximately 8,22,71,654 samples were tested for COVID-19 infection.
Meanwhile, in the past 24 hours India conducted a total of 11,99,857 samples were tested for the Novel Coronavirus infection.
