On the 29th of January, Saturday, India reported 2,35,532 new cases of the Wuhan virus, also known as the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19).
In addition, 871 fatalities were reported in the past 24 hours, taking the death tally due to Wuhan virus at 4,93,198. With this, India currently has 4,08,58,241 positive cases, of which 20,04,333 are active cases, 3,83,60,710 recovered/discharged cases and 4,93,198 deceased cases.
In the past 24 hours, the active cases decreased by 1,01,278, which is at 4.91% of the total infections. In addition, the recovery rate is at 93.89% from the previous 93.60% and fatality rate at 1.21% from the previous 1.22%.
The daily positivity rate was recorded at 13.39% and the weekly positivity rate was 16.89%. According to sources, the top 5 states with the highest number of Wuhan virus cases are: Kerala, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh.
The aforementioned data and figures of the Wuhan virus infection were confirmed by the Union Health Ministry and are available on the official website of the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW.)
Meanwhile, the cumulative number of Wuhan virus vaccine doses administered in the country so far has crossed 165.04 crore.
