India on the 28th of December, recorded the lowest 20,021 cases of the Novel Coronavirus or COVID-19.
Since July, the 20,021 figure is the lowest single day spike with 279 fatalities and 21,131 recoveries.
India’s daily number of COVID-19 cases on the 28th of December, jumped to 6.88%.
The confirmed figure of the new COVID-19 cases were released by the Central Health Ministry and updated on the official website of the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW.)
As per the updated data, India has 10,207,871 COVID-19 positive cases, of which 2,77,301 are active cases, 97,82,669 are recovered/discharged cases and 1,47,901 are deceased.
This is the seventh consecutive day, the active cases are below 3 lakhs comprising 2.72 % of the total caseload. The recovery rate also improved and is currently 95.83 % and fatality rate is 1.45 %
The top five states with the highest number of COVID-19 cases are: Maharashtra (19,19, 550,) Karnataka (9,16, 256,) Andhra Pradesh (8,81,061,) Tamil Nadu (8,14,170) and Kerala (7,40,517.)
