At the India Today Conclave 2018 Sonia Gandhi launched an attack on the Modi Government. The former Congress president stated the Modi Government failed to fulfill their promises made during the election campaign.
Confidently Sonia Gandhi said, “We are going to come back. We are not going to let them come back to power.” The Congress leader said it was not easy to find more parties to build a coalition big enough to beat the BJP led NDA.
Sonia Gandhi was asked if her son Rahul Gandhi asks her for advice. She responded, “He knows what his responsibilities are. And, I am there for any advice.” The Congress leader was asked if her son listens to her. To this she explained, “Well as parents we always try to control them (children) but it is a terrible thing to do. I volunteer some advice which I also offer when asked for.”
The Congress leader went on to compare PM Modi with former PM Atal Bihari Vajpayee. She said there was no accommodative approach in the present Government. Adding that Vajpayee had great respect for Parliamentary procedure.
Ms. Gandhi further added BJP would not win after making huge promises that they failed to keep.
