Six terrorists were killed by the Indian Army in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kupwara District. The terrorists were trying to infiltrate into India when their attempts were foiled by the Army. This was the biggest infiltration attempt by terrorists in the last few months.
Two days ago, a soldier was killed and a second was injured in an ambush in the same area. This led to the security forces thoroughly combing the area and managed to spot the ambush in time today.
The Indian forces are inspecting the area to ensure no more terrorists are hiding in the forests. A total of 21 terrorists have been killed in the last two weeks in encounters in Jammu and Kashmir.
Just two days ago Home Minister Rajnath Singh visited the residents living at the border area. He was accompanied by Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti and Minister of State in the Prime Minister’s Office Jitendra Singh.
The Center had called for a ceasefire for the month of Ramzan but terrorist attacks have continued. The Home Minister acknowledged this and said the forces are free to carry out any operations against the terrorists.
