The Former Telangana High Court Chief Justice Mr. Satish Chandra Sharma took oath as the Chief Justice of the Delhi High Court, on the 28th of June.
According to sources, on Tuesday, the Lieutenant Governor of Delhi, Mr. Vinai Kumar Saxena administered the oath to the CJ Satish Chandra Sharma at the Raj Nivas, Delhi.
The oath taking ceremony was held like a small ceremony, with the presence of Mr. Arvind Kejriwal, the Chief Minister of Delhi, the Deputy Chief Minister Mr. Manish Sisodia, the Members of the Legislative Assembly (MLAs) of the Aam Aadmi Party. In addition, the officials and senior advocates of the Delhi High Court, also attended the swearing in ceremony of Mr. Satish Chandra Sharma.
Furthermore, Justice Satish Chandra Sharma took over, after the former Chief Justice of Delhi Mr. D.N. Patel retired in June, 2022.
The appointment of Mr. Satish Chandra Sharma was made by the Union Government led by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP.)
Meanwhile, for the Telangana High Court, the Government of India, appointed Mr. Ujjala Bhuyan, who also took the oath as the Telangana HC Chief Justice on the 28th of June.
