Lok Sabha: Four No Confidence Motions Will Be Discussed

Today, four no confidence motions will be tabled in the Lok Sabha by the TDP, the Congress, the Communist Party of India-Marxist and the YSRCP.  On Friday, the Congress Party filed the no confidence motion and said it was their responsibility as the main opposition to question the Government.

The Congress further added it was concerned about Andhra Pradesh not getting the much needed Special Category status. The TDP and the YSRCP filed no confidence motions to protest the Center refusing a Special Category Status for the State.

Congress spokesperson Abhishek Manu Singhvi said, “The parties which may not agree with each other across the country, today have a very strong feeling about the various malpractice (sic) of this government. This government has created a climate of fear of oppression, of mis governance, threat, vendetta and you are finding a natural conversion. It is not that anybody is making much of an effort.”

He further added, “Not only one from Congress, there are three or four no confidence motions pending on Tuesday. I do not want to name the parties. Now, nobody has gone collecting no confidences. TDP never asked the Congress party, nor has the Congress asked TDP.”

The TRS and AIADMK have been delaying the no confidence motion in Parliament. The TRS has been protesting reservation quota and the AIADMK has been fighting to settle the Cauvery Water Management Board issue.
