The Delhi Police’s Special Cell has arrested one of the most wanted gangsters of the national capital, Deepak “Boxer” from Mexico, with the help of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), officials said on Tuesday.

A resident of Gannaur in Haryana, Deepak Boxer, had a bounty of Rs 3 lakh on his head. He is a wanted criminal and was nabbed by a special cell team of Delhi Police.  The team is currently in Mexico and it has nabbed gangster Deepak Boxer, who will be brought to India in a day or two.  This is the first time that Delhi Police has gone abroad to catch a gangster.

Deepak headed the Gogi gang after the killing of gangster Jitendra Gogi in the Rohini court complex in New Delhi last year. Boxer had become well-known in 2016 after he helped Gogi escape from Delhi Police custody in Bahadurgarh.  Deepak Boxer was associated with the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, which had helped him escape from India. Boxer had obtained a fake passport in the name of Ravi Antil from Muradabad and fled to Mexico on a flight from Kolkata.  He had been on the run since 2018 when action was taken against his gang under the Maharashtra Control Of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA). During this time, he continued to commit crimes. The police were looking for him in connection with two murders, an attack on police officers, and the escape of Kuldeep alias Fazza from GTB Hospital in March 2021.

Deepak Boxer was wanted in connection with the killing of builder Amit Gupta, who was shot several times in his left leg and abdomen on August 23 last year in north Delhi’s Burari.
