National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) and State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) teams are trying to rescue Sujith Wilson, who fell into a borewell.

The 2 year old Sujith Wilson, on the 25th of October, fell into a borewell in Nadukattupatti, Tiruchirappalli district in Chennai, Tamil Nadu.

He was playing near his house around 5:30 P.M., during which, he slipped into the borewellThe child is stuck 100 feet deep since the 25th of October.

O. Panneerselvam, the Deputy Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, on the 28th of October, addressed the media and said the operation to rescue Sujith is underway.  The rescue team would rescue the kid in five to six hours today.

Mr. Panneerselvam said due to hard rocks, the drilling process is slow.  He said, “However, within four or five hours, the rescue operation will reach its final stage.”  He further added, “After the failure, it was planned to drill near the deep well. Following this, a rig machine was used.”

The NDRF team is using a high speed engine for drilling, which was brought from Ramanathapuram.  O. Panneerselvam said, “This machine is currently in operation. This machine is capable of drilling 10 feet per hour. The 35 foot hole has been drilled so far.”

Approximately 6 NDRF and SDRF teams are still trying to rescue the child.
