NIA Arrests Al-Qaeda In Conspiracy Of Teror Attack In Uttar Pradesh

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) arrested wanted terrorist Al-Qaeda, on the 9th of February.

The arrest was in regard to the conspiracy of chances to conduct a bomb blast in poll bound Uttar Pradesh.  Notably, Uttar Pradesh is set to contest for 403 Assembly seats, in seven phases.  The elections begin from the 10th of February, till the 7th of March.  The results of the elections are on the 10th of March.

Ahead of the polls, the Uttar Pradesh ATS filed a case against Mr. Towheed Ahmad Shah,  a resident of Budgam district of Jammu and Kashmir, for allegedly hiring Al-Qaeda affiliated AGH (Ansaar Gajwatul Hind) group to plan a terrorist attack in Uttar Pradesh.  Recently, thr NIA, who were investigating the matter arrested five others related in the case.  The probe also revealed that Towheed was the mastermind of the conspiracy to recruit the operatives and to commit acts of terror.  He also oversaw the procurement of arms and ammunition apart from explosive materials to be used in the blasts in Uttar Pradesh.

Now, based on the case, the NIA arrested Al-Qaeda, ahead of the Uttar Pradesh polls.
