Nirmala Sitharaman, the Defence Minister of India stated Pakistan would pay for the Sunjuwan Army camp attack in Jammu. On Monday Sitharaman said, “Pakistan will pay for this adventure. It will pay for its adventurism … I assure the Nation that the sacrifices will not go in vain. We will continue to thwart any attempt by Pakistan sponsored terrorists to spread violence and take (the) necessary action through a counter terrorism strategy.”
The Defence Minister met with the Senior Army officials to inquire about the injured in the Sunjuwan attack. She also visited Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti. She further asserted the attack was planned by Masood Azhar based in Pakistan.
Defence Minister Sitharaman clarified the reports of a fourth terrorist and said the fourth must be a guide and never entered the Army camp. She further explained Pakistan was expanding it troops who violate ceasefire to assist the infiltration.
As the snow makes stopping the infiltration increasingly difficult, the Defence Minister announced new equipment for the Army. She announced Rs. 1,487 crores would be allocated for Unmanned Aerial Vehicles, long range surveillance devices and additional sensors. They will be used to cover the entire frontage of the LoC.
