In Chennai, unidentified persons hurled petrol bombs at the entrance of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) office.
The Tamil Nadu (TN) BJP President Mr. K. Annamalai said, “Law and order are deteriorating in our state.” He further said, “We seek NIA investigation because we think there is a larger conspiracy behind this petrol bomb. This should come out.”
The petrol bombs were hurled at 1:20 A.M, on the 10th of February, Thursday.
According to the police sources, at 1:30 am, unidentified persons came on bikes and hurled petrol bombs at the entrance of the BJP office, Vaidyaraman street, T. Nagar. No one was injured in the incident and no major damage was reported from the incident.
Mr. Karu Nagarajan, the General Secretary of the BJP took up the matter with City Police Commissioner Mr. Shankar Jiwal. Meanwhile, the Mambalam Police has registered a case and is investigating. As of now, a person has been detained after the scrutiny of the CCTV footage. The asserted suspect has been identified as Vinodh from Nandanam who has a couple of criminal cases pending against him.
After preliminary reports, the suspect was upset over the recently launched NEET Bill in the State and threw the bombs, seeking the BJP support.
The police are investigating the matter.
