PM Modi Addresses BJP Rally In Poll Bound West Bengal, Takes Dig At CM

The fight to win the West Bengal Assembly elections intensified with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit in poll bound West Bengal.

On the 7th of March, PM Modi addressed a Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) rally in West Bengal’s Briden Garden.

During the rally, Mr. Modi took a dig at Mamata Banerjee, the Chief Minister of West Bengal. He criticised the Trinamool Congress (TMC,) of looting and betraying the public of the State.

Mr. Modi said, “Instead of becoming Didi to people, Mamata was only ‘bua’ to her ‘bhatija.” He further said, “‘Loktantra’ replaced with ‘loot tantra’ in 10 years of TMC rule. Lotus is about to bloom in Bengal because of the ‘kichad’ created by you, Didi.”

Mr. Modi said, if the people of West Bengal wants “Asol Poriborton” (real change) they should vote for the lotus symbol, the BJP.

Mr. Modi said, “The people of Bengal never lost hope despite betrayal by Didi and her cadre. They made promises to work for ‘Maa, Maati, Manush’ but you tell me, has TMC been able to bring change in the lives of common people here in the last 10 years?”

Assuring democracy in West Bengal, Prime Minister Modi said, “We will bring the change to re establish public belief in government systems, in the police, and the administration.” He further added, “The people of Bengal want development, peace, Sonar Bangla. We will bring ‘Asol Poriborton’ where all progress is made but nobody is appeased and infiltration is stopped.”

Mr. Modi shared a future vision of West Bengal and said, “The next 25 years are very important for the development of West Bengal. In 2047, when India will celebrate hundred years of independence, Bengal will lead the country once again. The development here in the next five years will lay the foundation for (the) State’s development for the next 25 years.” He further said, “I have come here to make you believe in ‘Asol Poribortan’. Belief in Bengal’s development, in change of Bengal’s situation, in increasing investment and industries in Bengal and in the reconstruction of Bengal.”

“The dream of ‘Sonar Bangla’ will be fulfilled. Today, I have come here today to assure you of Bengal’s development, to increase investment here, to protect Bengal’s culture and to bring change.”

In 2021 March, West Bengal would contest for 294 seats. The one month scheduled elections would begin from the 27th of March, and would continue till the 29th of April.

This year, elections in West Bengal are witnessing a different wave with the Central leaders including PM Modi campaigning for the elections.

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is eying to rule West Bengal and dethrone the ruling TMC.

The West Bengal would have a major effects on the Indian politics. If the BJP secures a majority of seats and becomes ruler in West Bengal, it would be the first victory in Eastern States.

It would be a tough fight between the two time West Bengal Government TMC and the BJP.

Other parties contesting the upcoming West Bengal elections are the Communist Party of India (Marxist,) the Indian National Congress (INC) and the All India Majlis e Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM.)
