PM Modi Addresses India Korea Business Summit In Delhi

Today, the Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi addressed the second India Korea Business Summit in New Delhi. He began his address with, “We are also the fastest growing major economy of the world today and a nation with the one of the largest startup ecosystems.”

Mr. Modi asked Korea to come and invest in India and assured India was a country with Democracy, Demography and Demand. He further added, “A need for a hand holding agency was felt during my visit to Korea. Thus, ‘Korea Plus’ was formed in June 2016. Korea Plus has facilitated more than 100 Korean Investors in just 2 years. This shows our commitment towards welcoming Korean people, companies, ideas and investments.”

To lure investors PM Modi stated, “We have worked towards creating a stable business environment, removing arbitrariness in decision making. We seek positivity in the day to day transactions. We are widening areas of trust. This represents a complete change of the government’s mindset.”

Talking about the relationship between India and Korea PM Modi said, “We are also bound by our Buddhist traditions. Nobel laureate Rabindranath Tagore composed poem ‘Lamp of the East’ in 1929 about Korea’s glorious past and its bright future.”

Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley will also address the Summit today. This year’s theme for the Summit is “India and Korea: Scaling up the Special Strategic Relationship through Trade and Investments.”

The Summit aims at an action oriented dialogue between business leaders and government officials from India and Korea. The 2nd India Korea Summit will host over 200 business delegates. India and Korea are ranked third and fourth respectively in the largest economies in Asia.
