Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Ministers, and other political leaders expressed grief over the demise of Mr. Sharad Yadav, the former Union Minister.

On the 13th of January, Friday, Mr. Sharad Yadav, a leader of the Janata Dal (United) and a former minister, passed away at a private hospital in Gurugram, Haryana.  He was admitted to Fortis Memorial Research Institute in an unconscious and unresponsive state and was undergoing treatment at the Emergency Ward.  He took his last breath on the 12th of January.  The hospital also issued an official statement in this regard, “On examination, he did not have any pulse or recordable blood pressure.  He underwent CPR as per ACLS protocols.  Despite best efforts, he could not be revived and was declared dead at 10.19 pm.”

According to sources, Mr. Sharad Yadav, a veteran JDU leader had been suffering from kidney related issues for a long time and regularly underwent dialysis.

Upon hearing the demise of Mr. Sharad Yadav Mr. Narendra Modi tweeted, “Pained by the passing away of Shri Sharad Yadav Ji. In his long years in public life, he distinguished himself as MP and Minister.  He was greatly inspired by Dr. Lohia’s ideals. I will always cherish our interactions. Condolences to his family and admirers.  Om Shanti.”

Ms. Mamata Banerjee, the Chief Minister of West Bengal, tweeted, “I bear a heavy heart upon hearing about Shri Sharad Yadav’s demise.  A stalwart politician and an immensely respected colleague, his legacy shall live on. I pray that his family and followers find solace and strength in this hour of grief.”

On behalf of Mr. K. Chandrashekar Rao, the Chief Minister of Telangana, the Telangana Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) shared a tweet, “Chief Minister Sri K. Chandrashekar Rao has condoled the death of former Union Minister, RJD leader Sri Sharad Yadav.  Hon’ble CM recalled Sri Sharad Yadav’s support to the Telangana Statehood movement.  Expressed his deepest condolences to the bereaved family members.”

Mr. Mallikarjun Kharge, the President of the Indian National Congress, also condoled Mr. Sharad Yadav’s demise and said he strengthened the politics of quality.  Mr. Tejashwi Yadav, the Deputy Chief Minister of Bihar,also expressed grief on Yadav’s demise.

Meanwhile, the last rites of Mr. Sharad Yadav is scheduled to be held on the 14th of January, Saturday, in his ancestral village in Narmadapuram district, Madhya Pradesh.  

On the 13th of January, Friday, his mortal remains would be at his Chhattarpur residence in Delhi, for leaders and ministers to pay their last tributes to the veteran leader.
