At around 1: 30 P.M., Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Daman. He is in the Union Territory to launch new development projects. Mr. Modi will hand out certificates to beneficiaries from different official schemes.
PM Modi will go on to address a public meeting the Union Territory. The Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) tweeted PM Modi saying, “This public meeting in Daman is historic not only in terms of the number of people who have joined us but also in terms of the development projects being launched from here.”
In his public address, PM Modi congratulated Daman for being open defecation free. He further spoke about the blue revolution and the Government’s dedication to the welfare of fishermen.
After his speech, PM Modi will travel to Chennai to launch the Amma Two Wheeler Scheme. This is a welfare scheme by the Tamil Nadu Government. The inauguration is to honor former Chief Minister Jayalalithaa on her birthday.
