In a kind gesture, Mr. Narendra Modi, the Prime Minister of India, on the 10th of January, sent 100 pairs of jute footwear for workers at Kashi Vishwanath Dham, Varanasi.
It is to be noted, most of the workers at the temple discharge their daily duties barefoot, amid restrictions on wearing rubber and leather footwear. After coming to know the same, PM Narendra Modi sent footwear made of jute.
The people working at the premises who received these jute footwears include priests, people performing seva, security guards, sanitation workers and other workers.
A source close to the development, who wished to be anonymous said, “PM Modi has been deeply involved with Kashi Vishwanath Dham & keeps a tab on all issues & developments in Varanasi. This is yet another example of his attention to minute details and his concern for the poor.”
Recently, in December 2021, Mr. Narendra Modi visited his home constituency, Varanasi and inaugurated the first phase of the Dham along with other projects. Notably, the development in Varanasi came at a time when Uttar Pradesh is scheduled to conduct the Assembly elections in 2022.
Uttar Pradesh is set to conduct Assembly elections in three phases, the 10th of February, the 14th of February and the 20th of February.
The results of the Assembly elections would be announced on the 10th of March.
