Mr. Narendra Modi, the Prime Minister of India, is all set to visit Dehradun, Uttarakhand, on the 4th of December.
During the visit, the Prime Minister of India is set to inaugurate several development projects worth Rs. 18,000 crores. On the 1st of December, the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) released an official statement and announced the details of the Dehradun visit. He would lay foundation stone for the awaited Delhi-Dehradun Economic Corridor project, road projects, water supply projects and other projects.
The ambitious corridor project, making travel between Delhi-Dehradun easy would be at a a cost of Rs. 8,300 crores. With the new corridor, the travel duration between Delhi and Dehradun would reduce to 2.5 hours than previous 6 hours.
According to sources, the corridor would have seven major interchanges for connectivity to Haridwar, Muzaffarnagar, Shamli, Yamunagar, Baghpat, Meerut and Baraut.
Other projects to be inaugurated in Dehradun would focus on travel and tourism, road safety and development of Dehradun, Uttarakhand. The Central Government is aiming to make the major tourist city into a smart city at the peak time of tourism.
