Ram Nath Kovind, the President of India, on the eve of Eid, took to Twitter and wished the citizens of India on the occasion of Eid al Adha, also known as Bakrid.
President Kovind said, “On the occasion of Idu’l Zuha, I offer my greetings and good wishes to all fellow citizens, especially our Muslim brothers and sisters in India and abroad.”

Ram Nath Kovind said the festival symbolises love and service to humanity. He further said it is an occasion to share love and asked everyone to commit themselves to these universal values which represent their composite culture.
Apart from President Kovind, Prime Minister Narendra Modi also shared his good wishes.
He said, “My Best wishes on the occasion of Eid Al Adha. I hope it furthers the spirit of peace and happiness in society.”
